This Namibia desert lodge will give you the ultimate feeling of space, even more so at night when the infinite number of stars seem to tumble towards you. With no light pollution, the milky way is highly visible, and so are shooting stars that blaze across the sky every few minutes.
You can watch all this from the privacy of your own stargazing platform above your chalet, and even sleep the entire night up there for an incredible sense of freedom.
Desert adapted animals such as the magnificent-horned Oryx (also called Gemsbok) are often seen and your guide will tell you how they manage to survive in a place where rainfall is extremely erratic and unpredictable, and evaporation is rapid.
The dunes visible from this Namibia desert lodge are the highest sand dunes in the world and entice you towards them, where you should throw off your shoes and start walking. Let your feet sink into the soft desert sand and keep going until you reach the top, for the most extraordinary rippling dune scenery you have ever witnessed.
